Cynthia K. Rigney joined FSSV in 2018. Prior to joining the firm, Cynthia worked at a Dallas insurance defense firm representing employers across Texas in various labor and employment matters, ranging from discrimination and harassment claims to alleged violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act. Cynthia also has several years of experience representing individuals in immigration matters before the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Department of State.
While in law school, Cynthia participated in the immigration clinic, where she and other student attorneys represented a family of Mexican nationals seeking asylum. Cynthia also participated in the capital punishment clinic, where she explored possible mitigating factors for the clemency petition of a Mexican national on death row and researched claims of ineffective assistance of counsel. Cynthia also served as Internal Vice President of the Chicano/Hispanic Law Students Association and Symposium Editor of the Texas International Law Journal at UT Law.
Cynthia double-majored in Romance Languages & Literature and Sociology at Notre Dame. She had the opportunity to study abroad for a year in Bologna, Italy, where she gained fluency in Italian. Cynthia is also a native Spanish speaker.
Outside of her practice, Cynthia enjoys spending time with her husband, Matt, and their energetic son, Matthew.
